Ok, one more dose of pretty tonight. April's Elle Decor is focused on European homes, and of course, I'm having fits of jealousy over their unfair advantage in the architecture department. It seems like every flat/cottage/estate in Europe comes with gorgeous flooring, moldings and enormous, balconied windows. So not fair.Case in point, Parisian designer Cordelia de Castellane's apartment. The herringbone wood flooring and ornate moldings are the definition of Old World elegance. It would have been easy to turn the apartment into a ridiculous mini-reproduction of Versailles, but Castellane's apartment is the picture of restraint. Healthy doses of contemporary furniture and an emphasis on white keep it clean, with pops of color throughout to keep it interesting. Honestly, I'm ready to move in. Quite the upgrade over my time in Paris, which was spent at the "Peace and Love" hostel. No joke. Full spread available here.
