I'm still on a strong kitchen kick -- condo-shopping last week was the first breath of hope I've had in that regard for years. While researching, I fell in love with this light-filled kitchen in the country home of set/interior designers Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch.
They describe it as an English baker's kitchen, but I get a much more airy vibe. In fact, the first image I saw (above of the slate sink) made me think this was actually a flower arranging station instead of a fully functional kitchen.
Of course, I adore that slate sink -- which Robin and Stephen picked up at an old mill in Rhode Island. I do wonder how it would hold up against heavy use -- I feel like china might be more prone to breaking against the slate, so you'd need some kind of sink mat or grate.
I also love how they made the very narrow layout feel spacious and homey. So many condos have galley kitchens or other awkward layouts that are not ideal.
Finally, how great is that gleaming black floor? Learn more about the kitchen here.
