My Definition of Luxury..White Bedding

If I had to list out my top ten luxuries, crisp white sheets would probably be at the top of the list. As much as I love cheery, patterned bedding, I've always been a night person. For me, falling asleep is much more important than waking up, so an uncluttered palette is a necessity.

White sheets connote cleanliness, simplicity and authenticity -- they're also remarkably versatile. Often, the same bedding can work perfectly anywhere from a rustic mountain retreat, to a chic minimalist apartment or an Mediterranean villa. Not to mention white linens don't detract from your other decor and often offer a really striking contrast. The only key to this look is to make sure the bed invites face-first, post-14-hour-work-day belly-flops -- if it's not fluffy, the look is admittedly more state penitentiary than 5-star hotel.

Although I have some super-soft white sheets, I've been looking for a duvet for the longest time. I wanted something textured, but not busy -- so of course I was thrilled when I discovered the Rosa duvet cover at Pottery Barn (above). Sadly, queen duvets and all of the shams are already sold out online and in the Georgetown store. Considering this is a new product, I hope PB will produce similar bedding soon.

So while I stay on the lookout for my new duvet, here are some other gorgeous white beds I kind of wish I was lounging in right now.
